Bands from MJ19

Soul Majestic

Conceived by four friends on the sandy shores of California, GRAMMY NOMINATED Soul Majestic channels their sunny beach days and bonfire nights into their unique brand of reggae music. Their music blends their deep commitment to roots reggae with their love of rock, hip-hop, pop and folk music. This is reggae, yet it’s original–a new twist on familiar sounds–with conscious, heartfelt messages, and a high-performance band.  Their signature vocal sound features male and female singers trading melodies and soaring harmonies, laced with edgy, crowd hyping dancehall verses and memorable hooks. Epic lead guitar solos wail over a wide range of tight danceable beats, rock flourishes, and heavy-dub interludes that will captivate and move you to dance.

AJ Lee and Blue Summit

Blue Summit is a genre fluid bluegrass band that first formed in 2016. They are a remarkable group of young musicians who have grown up performing in the California bluegrass community. One of their latest achievements includes a showcase at the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) event held in North Carolina. They have been gaining traction with their unique sound, sharing their music all over the west coast. Later this year, they plan to travel overseas for the first time.  Lead vocalist and mandolinist, AJ Lee, has been recognized as NCBS (Northern California Bluegrass Society) Female Vocalist of the Year nine times.

Summit Sisters

An all female rock/pop/folk cover band from the Santa Cruz Mountains.  They play a well-balanced mix of hit songs and upbeat dance music spanning the decades from the sixties to the songs of today.  Their fun stage presence and perfectly blended harmonies regularly fill music venues and gather new fans along the way.

These Pilgrims

Hailing from Fullerton, CA, the 5 piece “natural rock” band, These Pilgrims, are making music for your mind, your soul, and ‘ya motha! These Pilgrims were born from a psych rock/folk inspired sound, crafting unhinged rhythms, waning guitar solos, and uninhibited lyrics into a hearty feast of get-down worthy jams. As long time patrons of the OC music scene, the group has unintentionally attracted a community around the band's message and music, all strung together by a murmuring sense of purpose. Good tunes, good people, and good times. See them at Mountain Jam on September 7, 2019

Summit Boys

The Summit Boys is a high-energy dance band from the Summit area that play a unique mix of latin-infused rock, soul and blues that keeps you movin’ and groovin’ all night long.  Their arrangements feature tight vocal harmonies over latin rhythms.  The Summit Boys was formed by mountain dads Louis Niemann (vocals/percussion) and Bill Eisner (guitar / sax / vocals).  They feature a triple percussion team of Tom Beckmann (drums), Tom Bartolero (congas) and Louis on percussion over the tight underpinnings of Judd Murkland (bass / vocals).  Sue Marvin, former member of the Santa Cruz Jazz Society is featured on keyboards.

Alex's All-Star Band

We are a group of family and friends devoted to honoring the life and memory of Alejandro “Alex” Rodriguez who passed away on December 13th, 2018 at 25 years young while buying a homeless man a meal. He means the world to us, and our world is so incredibly hard to live in without his physical presence. We respond to this deep pain by singing “Songs in the Key of Alex”, an ever changing collection of music that fosters a meaningful understanding of Alex’s life. We feel him in this music and hope you do too.
